At the start of the renovation process we interviewed many contractors in the area, Once Ray visited our property it became very clear that our search for a contractor was over. We were immediately struck by Ray’s warm and friendly disposition. We found him to be extremely calm, patient, level-headed, confident and talented. We were impressed by his ability to:

Ray truly builds unique custom homes. He created a design plan that tied seamlessly into the existing structure. It was open concept, it included interesting roof lines with different pitches, various angles and every room had a unique shape to it. Ray made sure that each room maximized the view of our waterfront property through striking window configurations.

The building phase of our project went better than we could have hoped for. It was completed both on time and on budget. All of Ray’s employees were very pleasant to deal with and competent in their jobs. A special thanks to Shauna, Rob, Ed and Jason.

We look back at this project with absolutely no regrets. We feel very lucky to be able to say that we would not change one thing. The end product of our renovation/addition far exceeded our expectations. Every day when we pull out of our driveway, and look at our house, we are so happy with how beautiful it turned out. We truly believe it is because we picked the right contractor.

Once the decision to custom build is reached then immediately there are a multitude of concerns. Materials, workmanship, costs all create a stressful environment. Your expert staff, including the individual workers on the job, are all “approachable”. The “small town” approach extended by Timberline is very comforting and reassuring through the process.

Let us start by saying thank you.

We love everything about our cottage. Our somewhat unique design is better than we could have predicted.

The whole process from design to completion has produced results above our expectations. Like anyone who has built a home (cottage) for the first time we had many concerns. As the customer we believed we had as much responsibility to communicate clearly with Timberline Custom Homes as they did with us and that has been the biggest part of our successful relationship.

Timberline Custom Homes and all their staff did everything in their power to support our ambitions. Michael supported us through the design process guiding us every step of the way. With the efficient use of computer design we were able to focus on perspective and the feel of a space long before a stake was ever driven into the ground. This was exciting for us as we refined our practical needs with our dreams of what we could make of our home away from home.

Although the budget was a difficult part of the process, Timberline staff worked hard to help us adjust to the cost realities without losing sight of our original ideas. Ray Northey was our original contact at Timberline and he showed us through homes he had constructed to give us a feel for his company’s abilities for quality and workmanship.

Ray was also instrumental with the actual placement and elevation choice on our property, We really appreciated his guidance here. In our ease we had a variety of choices for both placement and elevation and the results are, we think, stunning. From minimizing the impact on the trees and the lake shore to the impact on our neighbours we continue to enjoy our cottage environment.

The fit and finish of the whole building inside and out have been impressive. Even when it came to separate contracts like landscaping, kitchen and water treatments, we appreciated how well Timberline was able to work with our outside contractors and in some cases help us select them.

As we write this note we have been enjoying our cottage for six months. We have had the inevitable adjustments and minor repairs to be done by Timberline and we continue to enjoy the whole staffs full attention to deal with our issues. As with most business relationships, you can only trust that the people you deal with continue to assist you after the final bill is paid. This has been the most impressive part of our relationship since we took possession last summer.

Many thanks again for helping us create a place to realize our dreams for family and relaxation. It has been just what the doctor ordered.
